Description

The chasen is the traditional bamboo whisk that transforms matcha powder into a smooth, lump-free drink with a fine froth. Carved from a single piece of bamboo, it emulsifies quickly and gently, resulting in a more velvety texture—ideal for pure matcha (usucha) and also perfect for preparing a latte base.

Preparation tips (simple and effective)

  1. Pour your matcha into the bowl (chawan) then add a little hot (not boiling) water.

  2. Whisk in a “W” or “M” pattern for 15–30 seconds.

  3. Adjust the water according to the desired intensity.

Interview

Simply rinse it with clean water after use (no soap), gently shake off the excess water, then let it air dry, strands down if possible. Over time, it will soften: this is normal, and even desirable.
